After this super dramatic crazy weekend I feel that I have to write something about it. Saturday the one of the two days that Honolulu/Waikiki are celebrating Halloween. Everybody is super exited and the party is just getting started and the freaking Tsunami warning alarm sets off!! For me and my friends who have not been here when this happens what to do is confusing. Some are staying kind of ignoring it and some are running to the mountains packing everything they have. I actually found about it over a text, then one minute later a call, and then 4 minutes later I head somebody talking about it on the street. After about 30-40 minutes I actually looked it up myself. The news were totally confusing that night because it said that it was only 1-2 meters waves coming in and that you could hang around in Waikiki but then why was everybody going up to the mountains and the fire trucks going around screaming “leave Waikiki”. My dad from Sweden looked up news from back home and was a better source then the radio or news online. Media has that effect on people and I got that know. Of course if this kind of thing happens again I will take it serious but I will also not let Media ruin my night. Why we trust media is a huge question I like to have the answer to, they should bring correct news but when they don’t know much they just excaudate everything and get people freaked out.
I found this
video on YouTube, this is the Tsunami, and yeah if the waves were 5-6 meters evacuating
Waikiki would be a good idea, but for this one? Nope.
Hawaii has been missing these sunami hits so much, that I have a feeling that we aren't going to escape every time.
